Does anyone have the measurements for locating hood pins for a 1970? Are pre-existing holes holes in the rad support used? What does the fixed end of the lanyard attach to?

Were hood pin's a option or were they dealer installed? and are they correct if dealer installed them, Plus how do you know if they were dealer installed or put on at home by somebody.

For 1972 my accessory catalog states they were dealer installed only. Not sure about the other years. Is a car with them correct......Good question!

In the 70 GTO sales brochure, there is a pic of a GTO with hood pins. The brochure says they were available.

Also, Gordon's post of the pic from the assembly manual seems to mean that they could have been installed at the factory.

On the order sheet, I couldn't find where they could be ordered from the factory, so maybe they were avail only as a dealer-installed option. But then, why is it covered in the assy manual?

So, a 70 GTO with hood pins would def be correct.

Evil Stu and everyone else, I don't see in the pic or in the brochure where the GTO uses the lanyards to hold the pins. It looks to me from the pic from the assy manual that Gordon posted that the GTO did not use the cables, and I don't see the cables on the GTO in the sales brochure.

I got the kit from Year One, and am going to be putting the pins on this spring (without the cables) . . . . I think they look great . . . .

I bought a kit from Year One and the "hairpin" clips are incorrect. I asked them about it and they said "thats the way they come from their supplier". They are just plain flat clips. I have not been able to find the correct clips so for now have modified the ones I have.
