I have a '67 Catalina Convertable with a 400 4bbl. I recently came across an Intake manifold with six-2bbl carbs to fit a pre '65 389. I want to play with that 6-2bbl rig. Have a complete 389 from a 66 Catalina. I also have a set of heads from a 64 GP 389. Can I make this work?

I have a '64 Catalina convertible, if you end up not using that intake, I may buy it ...

Yep! Have had and tried the intake long ago!
It's a plumbing and linkage nightmare! Have fun!
They do look cool if you do it right! :D

Sounds like a cool set-up.

If you can, I sure would like to see Photo's of this.

I know what a tri-power is like to set-up.
Good luck

That set-up was immortalized by Monogram when it made their 1/8 scale '32 Fords in the late 50s and early 60s.

I don't think they ever said what displacement the engine was, but the 6 deuces was considered the hottest thing goin' without being blown. I think the even crammed 4 or 6 of those carbs on top of a blower. They always looked like Strombergs to me.

Of course, boltin' 'em down is the easy part. Hookin' 'em up and makin' 'em run is a different matter.

On the other hand, nothing looks cooler than a chromed 6 deuce set-up in show form.
