I want to publicly praise a couple of very helpful Pontiac enthusiasts, each of whom seem to be typical of the terrific kind of folks you're gonna meet in this forum. When I needed some obscure parts for my Trans Am, each one provided advice and helped me figure out what I needed. Each found they had some parts in their possession that would work and each decided that they'd be willing to sell it to me at a very reasonable price.

One fella's Performance Year's nickname I never did pick up, since he sent me private e-mails rather than post follow-ups to my original request. (I don't want to use his real name in a public forum, in case he might object.) I just want to use this forum to say many thanks for your help!

The other fella's Performance Years nickname is Lloyd-TX. He replied to my post and researched and helped me determine that one of the parts I needed was called an "escution." (Did you ever hear of a part with such a strange name?) He poked and prodded through his inventory and found some NOS parts and charged me only a minimal price for these rarely needed but hard-to-find parts. Many thanks, Lloyd!

As for me, someone who lives in a rural area, without hardly any other pontiac enthusiasts, with only a little (but growing) Pontiac expertise, having access to a forum like Performance Years has saved me many times over. You all are great!!

Mike:

Many thanks for the kind words. It was a pleasure to be able to help you out! I must admit that it was PURE luck that I happened across those escutions. I was digging through all my old boxes of NOS parts getting ready to restore a '72 GTO and your description of what you needed struck a bell.

It's my hope that I can help out other Pontiac enthusiasts half as much as I've been helped out already, and I've barely begun my project!

Later
