Where the sterring shaft comes thru the firewall is there supposed to be some sort of seal here?
I have air from the motor copartment blowing in.
What should I do ?

Put a seal in it. PY sells them pretty cheap.

Rusty, there is a thin, 1/4?, seal that gets sandwiched between the interior side steering column plate to the firewall. The hole for the column is elongated so you can loosen the seering column at the dash and drop it down a few inches for dash panel removal.

Not absolutely certain about 67's, but on 65's the thin foam gasket seals the steering column plate to the firewall, but won't do much about stopping air leakage into the passenger compartment. The steel steering comlumn plate has a protrusion on it that is supposed to have a boot to seal to the steering column. Needless to say they are no longer available. Get a bicycle inner tube and cut a piece that will wrap around the plate/column junction at least three times and install it with long nylon tie-wraps. That way you don't have to pull the column to install it. Problem solved.
