I have one of them installed on my lemans, but when running, it doesnt fill up even half the way -like it has such low fuel line pressure.

My old lemans would be totally filled with fuel in that glass fuel filter.

Is my fuel pump clogged or do i need a new 1?


The car runs fine and runs fine at high way speeds.

is it the idle -low fuelk pressure that makes it seem so low during idle, and then at higher RPM will the fuel pump, pump more?

If you are running ok at hiway speed and or wide open throttle then you fuel delivery should be ok. I would ditch the glass fuel filter though. Those things look cool but are nothing but trouble. I have personally seen them crack and leak. The last thing you want is fuel spraying all over. Go pick up a metal filter (fram or whatever) with the same inlet/outlet size as your current filter and replace it.

I was just concerned that there wasn't much fuel pressure.

I've had two different friends, cars catch fire due to the glass filters. Dump it.

I'm sure you are ok with fuel pressure or you would notice it during wide open throttle. If you are still concerned you could hook your fuel line to a pressure tester to be sure.

Loose the glass filter for the reasons Retro Joe mentioned.

I too have seen quite a few break and the end results are never good!

I use the all metal style cannister filters available anywhere for most all general street use.

FYI...you should generally try to mount any cannister style filters vertically(upright)so any air inside will be able to get out and doesnt get trapped and cause the situation you mentioned.

ok, im gettin a new fuel filter

I was recently using one of those clear filters to see what was going on with my car, and it looked low too. I think air was getting in so I tightened the rubber fuel line clamps, and the filter has run 90% full since then.

I would leave it on until you figure out what the problem is.
