Stupid if you ask me. You have buy each piece individualy. I am hoping some of the people on this site will put them together and sell them as kits such as Mr.Spotts and the other fine enginebuilders and places such as Summit or Jegs.

They sell the kits for just about all the other major brands including AMC but they won't do a kit for Pontiacs? ugh...

Yeah, that's pretty stupid on their part. Imagine how it was before that manifold was available. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...s/icon_mad.gif

I've heard that theres no definite time frame on a complete kit. Thats not a big concern for me as theres plenty of aftermarket ECUs available etc, but what did annoy me was when I heard that the manifold/fuelrails were set up for some unusual injector that Edelbrock prefers to use, rather than the typical Bosch injector....now that is a hassle.

Hammered 02-27-2005 04:38 PM

Even if someone sells a kit, there will still be a lot of work in getting one together and getting it tuned right. The Chevy boys have a lot of research into various combinations that would be costly for someone else to duplicate for a Pontiac. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that it's more than putting parts together to sell in a kit.

Leigh: It's only the Victor EFI (actually a Torker) that requires the pico injectors. The Super Victor (based on the Victor) uses conventional Bosch style injectors.

Jeff Kauffman and I dynoed my 462 with Accel Gen 7 EFI this past Thursday. 529 hp/559 ft-lb @ 5600/4500. Hope to post details later on.

I was just about to order the victor efi p/n:50565 manifold until I read this post, Can anybody verify that this manifold definately will not work using standard bosch style injectors? I have searched the edelbrock website and alll over the web and it doesn't state that anywhere in their descriptions, It just says will work with universal throttle bodies, fuel injectors etc. I am doing this mod on a budget and the added expense of "special injectors" could make this not worth it.

Hammered 02-28-2005 05:46 PM

Yes, you need to use the pico injectors for that manifold. It's the same one as pictured in my avatar. Page 126 of the 2005 Edelbrock catalogue now states you need to use them. The manifold and injectors are available through Summit Racing.

I may be selling some pico injectors. Should know in a couple days.

John, which intake did you use? How much shorter are the picos?

Skip Fix 03-02-2005 02:42 PM

After blowing up the picture looks like the Torker II style.

Hammered 03-02-2005 08:27 PM

Skip,

Yes, it's the Torker II or Victor EFI version. The pico injectors make for a very compact configuration. This is a picture of one: http://home.woh.rr.com/firebird67/Pico%20Injector.JPG

I don't see anything wrong with using them if the Torker style manifold better suits your application.

Let me get this straight...are you saying that p/n 50565, 29575, and 29565 all have to use the pico injectors? Or are you saying that 50565 uses the pico injectors, and 29565 and 29575 will be able to use the bosch?

Hammered 03-03-2005 10:06 AM

50565 Victor EFI: pico injectors

29575/29565 Super Victor EFI: bosch and other styles. Hold downs probably need modified depending on the injector length.

The 2005 Edelbrock catalogue (available on their website) is more specific about this now.

I've been pondering making a M/T cross ram EFI and putting them on the underneath side. So a shorter injector would be used easier. How tall from fuel rail top to injector where it seats in bung? Is the bung end the same diameter as the Bosch etc or different?

Cool. I was getting kind of worried for a minute there.lol Also, for anyone that doesn't know. Jegs doesn't stock these yet, but their price is $426.99 for the intake. Summit does stock them and they are $399.99. If anyone know of a cheaper place to buy let me know.

Hammered 03-03-2005 07:08 PM

Skip,

The gap is 1" but your bungs will have to sit on the outside of the manifold making the true distance further. The o-ring size on the pico injector is the most common size. I had the misfortune of buying conventional style injectors only to learn that they were too tall for the Torker intake. The o-ring ends fit perfectly though.

Chopper,

Summit carries both the intakes and injectors. I have always done well with Summit.

Why are the regular ones to tall for the Torker II style? I thought Rance and otheres converted some of those using regular injectors?
Too tall for throttle body linkage or because of the angle the bungs are at?

tininjun67 03-04-2005 08:51 AM

Skip,
I tipped the angle in on my injector bungs also, and the standard injectors hit the t-body linkage. I'm just going to shorten the rod the linkage bolts to then it will clear. I've got some spare injectors if you want to use them for mock-up. Then you can see what's what.

Hammered 03-04-2005 06:08 PM

Skip,

The injectors are angle to hit the back of the valve (the current design trend) and so the rails get canted in toward the TB. I've already got some minor clearance problems with the Kinsler TB. If I used standard length injectors it would push the rails almost into the TB itself, let alone the linkage. Also, the rail hold downs are cast into the intake on the Torker version so longer injectors would make them useless without the interference problem.

The Victor version of the intake has the injectors angled more toward the bottom of the port. This keeps everything away from the TB.

Yea the Rance T2 conversion looks like they are straight up and down. Might have air cleaner isssues that way. Thanks for the info.

I've got a Holley Commander 950 TBI and was even pondering pulling the injector pods off and using just the throttle body portion with multi port and upgrading it to the wide band
