i am looking for a cheap 4-speed for my 400. i was thinking about getting a muncie but those cost a lot to get. i am just wondering what is a good yet cheap trans to get that can stand up to about 400hp and maybe 450ft/lbs? As long as it will last a while until i could upgrade to something better. i am also a student and dont have a lot of cash that is why i am asking you guys this. thanks.

I dont think there is really anything out there that will take 450 TQ and be cheap.Tom

Nope! No cheap ones that will fit your bill!

I heard that some company makes a HD case for Muncies that really help the durabilty. Original cases will twist and bind. Makes quick shifts hard to do consistantly.
A chrysler HD A-833 will handle the abuse if you don't mind the weight. You might have to do some modifications for it to fit though.

M-21 HD will survive the 455 (has a TH400 output shaft size, and a fine-spline inputr shaft, and the 1"countershaft support) on the street. Butt,
