Can anyone help me. I got a set of roller tip rockers for use with 7/16 bb chevy studs. I need to know how to adjust them. does the engine have to run first to pump up lifter? Have nylocks or polylocks not sure. Can they be reused or do I need new ones?

Polylocks have allen screws in the center. You don't ever need to pump up hydrolic lifters to adjust them. Comp cams catologe has a lot of usefull info in the front pages. I have one, you should get one.

I ran those for years and they adjust no different than any other rocker. Tighten down to 0 lash and give them an extra 1/4, tighten the allen screw in the poly lock and your done!

Thanks for the info. I realized after these 2 post that I don't have polylocks, because I don't have a set screw. I believe they stay where they are, do to friction from a nylon insert in the nut. thats why I wasn't sure if I should try to reuse them. Do you adjust the lash with vehicle running like a chevy? Yes, when they quit making noise turn a quarter to a half turn. (Thats if they are hydrolic.)
I'd look in to getting the polylocks and the catologe. |
