What is the most rare option you have seen on a RA IV car?
I know that they often came whit hideaways and tach on hood, but how about power windows, power seat, radio etc?

Hide-aways were discouraged by dealers because of low vacuum, although our car has them. Air conditioning was verbotten. All other options are fair game, although most high-option IV cars I see were dealer ordered.

Ron Landis 02-25-2005 10:36 AM

Please list your options, as your car is one of one that I have seen, as I state in our e/m. Please share this rare beast with the other members and see if anyone else has seen a RA IV '69 optioned out like this. Don't leave out the kilo speedo! Ron

Hi Ron! Sometimes thing´s dont have to cost a lot of money to be interesting!! http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_wink.gif

PonchoV8 02-26-2005 01:46 PM

That's a load of options--btw, what does the speedo register?

Nisseman 02-26-2005 02:49 PM

It´s a warning signal so you dont go to fast...
A yellow needle placed in the speedometer, that you can set on fx 60 mph, and if you go faster it beeps.Robert.

That Polar White RA IV Judge that was for sale on this web site a few weeks ago, had the rear tail lamp monitor. Which I've heard is seldom seen.

Ron Landis 02-27-2005 08:34 AM

I think what Poncho meant was how many "K"s is the speedo registered for. It is in kilometers, isn't it? Just to let folks know, Mr. N needs a set of 722s, am I right? I have been unable to locate anything but race-prepped units, and keep in mind they would need to be shipped overseas. Can anyone help? This may be a 1 of 1 car!

Nisseman 02-27-2005 10:44 AM

Sorry, my misstake. I have 200 km/h on the speedometer and it is in that region I will place it while driving.. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif

roundportponchos 02-27-2005 07:13 PM

My 70 red raiv/4spd judge convt. was in Sweden from 1973-1989, it has 200k speedo. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_smile.gif

I wonder if a '71 would read "240" or something? Anyway, hope you have long stretches of open highway there! Does anyone over ther ask you why the motor sounds so crappy?[lol]I know they're not used to hearing one idle like that! Keep in touch. Ron

Nisseman 02-28-2005 11:40 AM

Second owner of the car had it in the local GMshop for a week to try to adjust the idle and ignition... He got a better price on the car just because of this "bad behavior"!!
I have heard storys about a RA IV conv. that was sold back to the states, did you bought it from Sweden or from someone in the US?

Robert.

roundportponchos 02-28-2005 09:47 PM

http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_smile.gifI got my 70 RAIV Red Judge convt, from collector here in states. he got it from a guy, Mats Brun I think. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_smile.gif

Rarest I've seen was the V.O.E. (vacuum operated exhaust) option on a R/A IV '70.

That option MUST have been added to that car, or it wasn't really a Judge.

The VOE option was available on the standard 400 4V engine ONLY.

Nisseman 03-05-2005 01:01 PM

Some of the options I have on the car are not in the optionlist from PHS, where can I get a complete list?
BTW, did all GTO 69 came with redline tires or was it a chose by the byer?

Robert.

robz 03-07-2005 12:17 PM

Very nice option list for a RA IV...I guess they deleted all Seat Belts and accessories from the looks of it...No Red lines were an option....

http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_smile.gifI ´ve got the info from PHS papers with headline "additional no-extra-cost equipment"
so i thougth it was a standard thing...
robz, your car lookes just like mine!
Here is a pic from -75.

Robert.

robz 03-07-2005 02:00 PM

Yeah there were a few "No Cost" options like Bench Seat, 265HP step down 400 2bbl, etc...

Yes I also have a Red 69 H/T..the one in Avatar is my Conv...Is that the original owner back in '75??
