friend has a newly rebuilt 455.
can hear a small knock from back end of motor, you have to have ears very close to block to hear. it is more on the pass. side kinda near the oil filtre area.
is he beeing too fussy or is this something to worry about
like i said you have to bee very close to motor to hear it and only at idle.

Oh jeez, sounds like the transmission. But just to be safe, he'd better replace the crankshaft too.

I'm not an expert, but you might try looking at the obvious problems first like the torque converter bolts being loose. Tighten to spec with Loc-Tite.

If you have a definite knock, that is bad news. IMHO I would track it down or make the shop who did the work help out. At the least, I would inform the shop about the problem and guage the response. Good luck, Matt
