I was wondering if I could get a Guesstimate on a combo I am building. Here's what I have....
74 455 bored .030 over standard crank Lunati Bracket master II cam - 292/230 .490 110sep Performer intake 1 5/8 headers holley 750 vac sec HEI ignition compression ratio between 9.5:1 and 10:1 I haven't decided on the 6X-4, 96, 66, 5C or 15 heads, suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

have you played with the simulated engine dyno at www.pontiacwarriors.com

For most people, about 460HP, but for you about 560HP if you use the 5C heads.
Nice Lunati cam. |
Huh? Does that mean I get the extra 100 horses from the stickers? hehehe
5C heads, huh? I need to find some.... |
That web page is unavailable.

I ran it through a program I have and guessed at a few things but came up withabout 450 hp gross and 340 net hp. Should run around 12.90 in a 3500lb. car.

Thanks Roy |

Thanks Roy Not sure on horsepower, but depending on what else you've done to the block and heads the CR shouldn't be that high. If they are 87cc heads, .060 overbore, standard stroke, standard 6.7 cc dish piston, deck height is .020, gasket thickness of .039, CR would be 9.97:1. If the heads or deck have been milled the CR can go up quickly. |
Minor changes....
It is a 71 block, standard bore and crank. Does that change the numbers much? It will be run through a 2.5 inch Flowmaster exhaust. Thanks! Drew |
