I have a BG 220HR pump to go behind my 468,Im hoping to run 11s on motor and 10s on the gas.I think this pump will be more than enough.My main question is,,,will a fram fuel filter be big enough to supply this pump or will I need a high dollar filter?

The Fram pre-filter is used on 9sec cars. If you are running 2 pumps, you need two Frams. I run 1 Fram before the pump-works great.

Fram filter is THE WORST restriction you can have behind a pump. Took two Holley Blues and two Fram filters to go 10.80's in my buddies' Chevelle. One Holley Black (replacement for the Blue) and one K&N Billet filter and I have gone 10.60's.

If you don't believe me, do the math on what the Fram flows and then look at the rest of the filters out there. The Fram is the worst, just like their oil filters.

I've heard alot of stories about Fram oil filters. I've used their HP-1 for the last 4 years and have yet to experience any trouble with it in a remote filter setup. Just pulled the pan off of this engine for inspection and it was remarkably clean, even the pump pickup screen was clean. Not what I would have expected.

One Carter mechanical pump pushed by one Carter electric pump pulling through a Fram filter. 10.80 at 130 in my streetcar (64 GTO). It has been set up that way since 1981.

I ran a Fram gas filter before my fuel pump for a
couple of years on the street and did not see ANY pronounced restriction the FIRST time. I later replaced the filter and had vapor lock issues. I
removed the Fram filter element and the problem went away. I eventually wound up using a Kinsler
F.I. inlet screen filter with no issues. I have
heard of some elements being bad. The basic Fram
filter design is ok just may be a quality issue
with a few pieces. The Fram company has changed hands a couple of times over the years and their
quality requirements may have changed with the

hmmm... very interesting.
i picked up one of those fram units at a swap meet a few weeks ago for $10. it needs a filter cartridge but other than that its pretty nice. after i bought it, torqjunki told me that they have a reputation for being restrictive.
i'm going to give it a try with a COMP140 pump and see how it performs.

the nascar guys have been using the fram units along WITH mechanical pumps for years and can supply fuel for those high revving,long duration engines.
doesn't seem like it would be a problem for 10 or 11 seconds?

I was running 9.90s on a Mallory 140 pump and Fram filter. Worked for me.
