The 422 is for D98-Accent Body Stripes, available on Tempest, LeMans and GTO (2 door only). The 611 is for W73-Driver Controlled Exhaust [Vacuum Operated Exhaust (VOE)], GTO only and not available w/ Ram Air III or IV engines.

Thanks for the reply. Of course that only brings up new questions for me. What did the striping look like? I've seen different stripes and want to be correct. Second, is there any way to complete a restoration with the W73-Driver Controlled Exhaust? I haven't been too successful finding anything at this point.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong [img]tongue.gif[/img] The d98 stripe was the same as the '69 Judge stripe in early production and changed to the "eyebrow" style stripes later in the year. Since your car came with the V.O.E. option my guess would be that it came with the early production stripe.

Open the doors and look in the fenders and door jams for the remains of the original stripe kit.

Wow! Great find! This is the first documented car with V.O.E. that I've heard of.

Kind of long download if you're using a dial-up (like me), but worth the wait. I don't think you are going to find most of the VOE parts, unless someone removed them from the car and stashed them years ago :(

Thanks to everyone for the feed back. I guess the VOE will be a back-burner project at this point. By the way, the switch I got with the car was not the push-pull type seen on te vintage commercial or described in the Pontiac Service manual. Mine has a dial.
Looking throught the car, I can find no signs of old stripes. The nephew of the original owner changed the Baja Gold to maroon color and actually did a good job when he did. Any evidence of the old stripes are gone. If I can't figure out the correct stripe, I may have to track down the previous owner (the nephew) to see if he remembers or better yet, has any pictures of the original car.

Any additional info or parts you turn up regarding the VOE would be much appreciated if you mentioned here. That is one rare GTO you found.

Reminds me of me, has a gto, works in computers although I'm not married and I live in Canada!
