Besides price what is the difference between the CSR and the Meziere water pumps.

Might not mean squat, but had my Meziere for 4 1/2 years with no problems.

Guess I need to replace the old Mr. Gasket belt drive WP. Was pulling 220 + on return road after some passes yesterday. Haven't made up my mind yet...

I had the same problem saturday at the PSN with my moroso belt drive setup (saw 240 in the lights and shut it off at 100mph). I also have the same question re: CSR vs. Meziere.

Hey 60man. You need to update your profile. I could have sworn I saw you running 11's!! Got that thing running good!

Wade Congdon 05-16-2005 09:27 AM

The major difference is that the CSR uses the stock divider plate and bushings and the Meziere has them built in, hence the price difference. We sell the CSR ($199.99) and have had great feedback. I run one on my own car.

60Man, Yes you should get one. I used to run that blet drive deal & i got rid of it because it was doing exactly what your's is. I have the CSI/CSR one & love it.

One more vote for CSI pump, mine is great and a rebuild kit is about 15bucks if its ever needed.
I would never do it but Ive heard they work just fine on a street car as well.

OK. I got a CSR/CSI water pump. Went to install it and have a problem with alternator belt routing. Belt will hit WP motor as is.. My car has PS/ALT set up typical of 64/65 up cars. Both piggy back on driver side. I need to move alt. to get belt out of the way. I will eventialy ditch PS as soon as I find a manual box...but mean while I would like to run CSR pump!! I ordered a alt. relocation kit and going to try mounting alt. on Pass. side cyl. head and try it. Any street/strip guys running this pump with power steering ???
Maybe I should post this in Heating & Cooling section.

Flamin65 05-24-2005 02:18 PM

Troy my brother is running that pump with power steering and the relocation kit is what was needed. I'm pretty sure that was all he needed to do. If you post on outlaw pontiac drag series I'm sure he will reply. Talk to you later Greg

60man 05-24-2005 04:10 PM

Thanks Greg...will do.

Troy on my 69 Firebird I just relocated the alternator to the passenger side and the power steering belt worked fine. You just have to figure out how to get the alternator wiring over on the other side. If you need any help let me know.

Oh well.....I tried mounting the alt. on pass. side head and still have problems. After much work lowering the radiator(Griffin) mount for hose clearance on alt. the belt won't line up on crank pully. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_frown.gif It lines up with the PS slot..can't win. PS has to come off--then no problem except steering a 2 ton car.. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_smile.gif
I used straight water & Water Wetter this time. It took 20-25 minuets to get to 220 but it still did and it's not that hot http://pysales.com/images/spank.gif
Back to my seach for a manual bax.......
