Hi everyone,
Was just wondering how many others have one of these wagons. Mine is a '66 Bonneville with a '69 400, TH 400, power seat, steering, brakes, door locks & windows. It also has factory-air, AM radio, drvers remote mirror, roof rack, cruise control, Cordova top, and the 8-lug wheels. I searched 22 years for a donor car to make a duplicate of the one my parents had when I was born in '74. They sold it in '79 and I promised I'd find another one. The one thing I am missing that our car originally had was the power rear antennae for the wagon. Anyone know if the antennae is the same for the wagon/passenger car?? Anyway our car was originally Candelite Cream (yellow) with a black Cordova top. Absouletly awesome color combo with solid black interior. I won't be starting the restoration for at least 7-10 years from now...I have too many others ahead of it. Anyway...just thought I'd say Hi to everyone! Nice Rig, Im jealous. There was one exactly like that on ebay a few months ago. I wanted it bad. I want one without the roof rack.
Give me a thumbs up, tell me "Nice Car!", but for god's sake, don't call it an Impala. |
The wagon power antenna is unique to a wagon.
My friend in New Hampshire has a 421 loaded 66 wagon that he bought from the original owner. I would love to have a 66 wagon. The difference between in-laws and outlaws-outlaws are wanted |
Hey there Joe http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_wink.gif,
One just like yours right near me and the same color! An older lady drives it daily and it looks to be in good condition. I saw that one on E-bay! It was yellow but with the brown/cream interior. I figure mine was an easier change do to it having the black interior like our original one. I also got mine off E-bay in a round-about manner. If you saw it it was listed about 2 years ago in Lawndale, CA down near Long Beach for no reserve. I never bid and it hit $183.50. I called the guy and asked him what he would like to take it off his hands and he told me $300.00 http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif. I was there that evening looking at it in the dark and struck a deal. It does need front fenders...they are rusted on the vertical portion next to where the hood rests but the top is in excellent condition for having a Cordova top. When I first talked to the guy I thought maybe it had been our original car do to having a '69 400 and the black and gold Californisa plates. That was the same engine my dad replaced the 389 with after the water in the gas tank incident from his 4 year old son (me). http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...s/icon_eek.gif Anyway...it turned out to not be ours but the perfect specimen for my childhood to re-live once again. I've been looking for one of those wagons to re-do after I finish my 2 door. Its been a while since I've seen one but while the antenna is the same the bezel might be differant. You might get a hold of one the PY catalogs and see what they offer for your wagon.
