I'm in the process of changing the interior color of my 69 Firebird to Parchment. Should the rearview mirror casing match the interior color, even in the case of a Parchment color?

Thanks,

John

I believe, if you want to stay original, the "casing" should be non-painted stainless with a slight polish to it. For a while only painted or Black frames were available from the aftermarket due to glare issues. You should have no problem getting a correct one now though.

Yes, I was referring to the vinyl covering around the mirror....

I'll check FGF too, but someone here has to have a parchment interior

Thanks!

For what it's worth, mine was not parchment interrior, but originally gold then converted to black.

The outer trim on my mirror is a very light grey, almost silver color. I cannot state it is accurate this way, but I've seen the same color in a few other cars....not matching the color of interrior.

Gray? That's the way the repo mirror came. The one I'm replacing is original and green in color. Well, "was" green http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...n_rolleyes.gif

I guess if someone with an original parchment interior could verify....

Oh, and here's a pic. I'm referring to the middle piece.

I have a 69 with the blue interior, and my mirror trim is blue. The mirror is orig to the car...The gray from the repos is meant to be painted to the orig color of your interior from what I understand...Geo

I agree it should be the same as the interior color for a 69. I'm going with white until someone tells me different....

Thanks all!

John
