I'm looking at the cost vs. power gain of porting my cylinder heads.(04 LS1) Removing and reinstalling them I will do myself, but does anyone have any recamendations of what size valves to use,and a ball park machine shop cost for labor? Any advice would be apriciated! http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif

You'll get the best responses over at http://www.ls1tech.com

There are guys over there that really know how to make the LS1 a ultra performer.

You can pick up used LS1 heads for $200-$300 a pair complete. Might want to practice on a spare set first. I've been thinking about grabbing some and porting them for my son's SS.

Yes, LS1Tech.com is the place to ask...

But yes, porting the heads and adding a cam will WAKE up an LS1 or LS2... If it's an Auto throw in a lock up converter for an even larger improvement...
