You may have to experiment with tire pressures to find what gives the best wear (most even). I tend to always be throwing my cars into the corners so run a fairly high pressure, usually within a few pounds of what the max. pressure listed on the sidewall of the tire is. Doing this keeps the wear more or less even, instead of just on the outsides. If you drive more tamely, you can get away with less pressure. I'd say 35 psi would be a good place to start.

White smoke? Oil smoke usually has a bluish cast to it. When do you see the smoke? By that I mean, under what conditions? When you first start the car or when you're driving it? if you're driving it, when does it typically appear? When you're accelerating or decelerating? It could certainly be caused by a bad valve seal or worn guide.

Head bolt torque should be the stock torque figure with just about any gasket. I can't remember off the top of my head what that is though, but I think 100 ft/lbs is about right. Check first to be sure, over or under-torquing the bolts could lead to head warpage, and certainly premature gasket failure.

Pontiac manual calls for 95 ft/lbs for head bolt torque. 100 won't hurt though. This is assuming you're using stock type head bolts. Bolts (or studs) from companies like A.R.P. require a higher torque reading to get the proper stretch out of the fastener.

smoke is after engine warms up a bit and mostly while acceleration. it is not very strong but visible.

Blue Smoke = Oil
White Smoke = Water

Freshly rebuilt engines should not have blue smoke coming from the exhaust, under any conditions or circumstances. Before doing anything else though, are you getting proper crankcase ventilation? IF so, I'd be going back to the mechanic that built this engine and demanding an explanation, either with some money returned or preferably to have it torn down and gone through correctly to fix the problem. If it blows smoke after warming up, it should blow smoke while cold too.

hey guys, my car throws white smoke from idle, thru acceleration, to decelaration. It's only coming out of the leftside exaust pipe. What is that from? Is it maybe a bad head gasket?

Pull your spark plugs out of the left side and seel if one or more are oil soaked or washed clean.
This will give you a good indication of what your problem is.
Let us know what you find.
