1975 Formula with a tri power???

Hey guys ... new here and and I have a question for some of you bird lovers. I have a 75 formula that I put a 71 455 engine into. I have to my avail. a 66 GTO tri power with intake. My question here is would I have the clearance with my stock formula hood to put a tri power in my bird? Any and all help would be great..... Thanks again

yes

I had a 74 formula 350 that I put a 400 with a 65 tri power into and it cleared with the small round air cleaners but watch the stud height and no wing nut.

Tri-powers are "cool" on 66 GTO's but putting it on a 70's Formula will likely slow it down & make it unreliable...JMO

tri power on a bird

had one on a 1973 formula 455 4 speed car they fit, like a previous member stated no wing nuts or long studs, you cannot run a hei distributor, and you need to clearance one of the stud holes on the water pump housing for the water neck out side of that your cooking in grease.

the big thing with tripowers is use real tripower carbs !!!!!!!! and use all the factory style stuff if you do that they are trouble free, its the idiots runing ham and egg tripowers or cant rebuild a two barrel carb that are have all the problems. a two barrel carb is way less complicated than a q jet and a q jet is not complicated either and another great carb

as far as performance loss i never seen that or felt it and no q jet sounds as good as a w.o.t. tri power

we are making one fit under a 1977 trans am under the shaker that will look like the factory did it will post pics when done more fabrication on the air cleaner needed but well on it way to be really trick

Wouldn't it be simpler just to start with a GTO?
