I know there are already two threads praising Josh (pontiacmuscle), but I didn't want to bury my comments in someone else's thread. Josh was a pleasure to deal with and answered many emails and phone calls before I even decided to purchase his 421. Once the purchase was made, Josh stayed in contact with me on an almost daily basis, including sending me photos as he was crating up the engine for shipment. Josh was also very cooperative in helping me to find a shipper, and once I did, in getting the engine to the shipper in a reasonable amount of time. On top of that, Josh included several extras that I need for my buildup, and then threw in an engine stand for free.

I don't think I could have been more satisfied in this transaction and I would not hesitate to do business with Josh again, he's one of the hobby's best.

And as a side note, I have to compliment Highway Freight (800-363-9621). Debra was my contact there. Per their website, they specialize in these types of transactions: one-time person to person engine/transmission/ebay type deals. Their shipping quote was $225, when most other shippers were in the $600-700 range. They act as the shipper, and the seller delivers to the terminal on their behalf. Therefore, they get discounted rates, and can search many transit companies for the best rate for the buyer. They were even able to find me a freight company willing to take a pallet, when most required a full crate. My actual shipment went by Overnite (a UPS company), and it was painless.

I also was able to add an insurance policy through Discount Shipping Insurance (dsiinsurance.com) for about $45. That was worth it for piece of mind, especially with Pontiac engines occasionally disappearing during shipment.
