65 GTO shipping
 

I purchased a 65 GTO back in Nov. of last year and i am having a hell of a time trying to find a reliable shipper that can pick the car up in Ohio and bring in to Southern Cal. The car does not run but rolls, steers and brakes. I am on my third shipper now and he is giving me the run around. The guy i bought the car from is getting very impatient and wants it out of his hair. I need the car picked up within a week. Any recommendations??? If i don't get a shipper willing to pick the car up by this Wed. i will be leaving Thur. to go pick up the car myself and if i do maybe someone out there needs a car hauled out that way. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

For what it is worth try finding any trucking Co. that does buisness in that area that may be coming out to the west.
I shipped a car from VA to OH and the buyer found a Popup camper Co. that was making a delivery to VA and was looking to take anything back with them.
63 Tempest that did not run was no problem for them.

look in Hemmings Motor News. there are so many ads, they have to be hungry. Approach the problem two ways; 1) choose an outfit from CA. to go pickup the car, this way you see the equipment that is involved in picking up your car 2) you negotiate faca to face on the price, expectations. You also get to see their Certificate of Insurance firsthand, if you don't have a fax for the out-of-state vendor, should you decide to go that route. Good Luck!! When I bought my '64, hired a transport out of San Diego, CA. for a run to South Texas, total cost $990.00

Maybe someone on the board who lives in OH can get it and hold it for you until you arrange transport.
