I am close to installing a fresh 455 in my 70 gto- 1970 .030 over xf block with #64 heads P 292AH-10 comp cam, 400 auto 2800 stall, 2-CARTER AFB 600 CFM CARBURETORS, The Offenhauser intake part number is #5499. 360 Degree Equa-Flow Dual Quad Low-Rise. This car will be a street/ strip car mainly street.
What do ya think, Do I need a larger than stock fuel pump? Thanks Ken |
In my experience I wouldnt run a stock pump on a stock engine,a good aftermarket mecahnical is the least I would do and in your case I myself would run an electric-either in addition to or stand alone if you prefer.

I would definitely run an electric pump with that combo. Consider a sump too if you want to reach your full potential at the strip.

I like my Holley 110gph mechanical a lot. Seems to keep my 1/2" fuel line full.
Appropriately the part number is "389". Good luck. |
Thanks guys, how does this engine combo sound?
