weird question, vacuum on BB little milky
just put a vacuum pump on 540 BB chevy in my 69 firebird. switched to synthetic oil and i'm getting a milky oil, greenish colored in my canister. pulled the valve covers and found sorta white stuff on my stud girdles and was wondering what might be the problem. i just put the intake back on, but no leaks there. could it be from sitting for a while. will this dissapate or am i screwed..
it sounds great, runs smooth and just wondering if it's becaue i'm pulling the vacuum now.. only getting around 5-7 on full throttle thanx guys |
if it has been sitting for a while it is just condensation from the air. it will evaporate when in the valve covers when the motor gets up to full operating temp for a while.

milky oil is typically water in the oil. May go away or not. would complete your oil change and watch it.

what they said.
get it up to operating temp and see if the water boils out after a bit. it should. it's very humid here now, as i'm sure you've realized. |
