Try gardner exhaust. Pricey but good!

I'm surprised the PY guys huys haven't answered yet. They have sold pipes to fit 1st gen firebird convertibles, but I don't know if they sell the tranverse muffler that I think originally came with these cars. There is a lot more discussion in the exhaust tech forums. I think all the ones I saw in the forums had dual 14" mufflers in a normal (non-tranverse) location. I talked to pypes about 2 weeks ago and they were out of but expecting more of their custom spacers to space the convertible floor pan brace down to allow fitting 2.5" pipes inside the driveshaft tunnel.

In order to run a crossover on a 1st gen F-body, you must either remove the body pan and install frame rail connectors OR Pypes has a body pan spacer kit that allows you to lower your body pan so the X can run between the body pan and the floor. By doing this, you can run either of the Pypes systems available for F-body. Pictures of this are in the 'Installation Gallery' on the Pypes website. Look for the red 69 Firebird Convertible.

thanks for looking in and the info.
when you say crossover, do you mean a transverse muffler or a crossover (balance) pipe?
you guys sell this stuff, yes?
i'd like to support you vs another marketer.
i'll go have a look at the site.
thanks

crossover = either an X pipe or a Balance pipe. With the modification, you can run an X pipe but you stull couldn't run a balance pipe.
