What's it worth
 

OK, All you guys with the full size muscle. What would be a fair price for this car. E-Bay item # 4652807487

i had a big reply mapped out but my comp crashed :(!!

Bottom line was:
nada guide shows 22k for a high retail price on it.
I think it's probably worth around that much but I wouldn't blame a buyer for paying 25 or perhaps 27k for it since it's so damn nice. I bet it will get 25k in bids.

Surprised there was no tri power or 421 on it with so many other options.

It looks a bit OVER restored to me. Under hood lamp on the firewall is not correct. White painted underneath is not correct either (I think). Don't think the tissue holder was available with A/C either. Straight exhaust pipes are wrong too.

Yet other things are not fitted which if the rebuilder wanted a really special car, he could have done like Power windows & Vents. Door locks maybe. No power antenna. Would have looked better with a vinyl roof.

And like Mike Diaz says, no 421 or tripower options.

I think if it hits 18K, he ought to grab the money with both hands. But maybe it's the white colour that makes me a bit cynical. White hides most sins!!

But i didn't notice those little things you mentioned about the 'over restoration' They are good and interesting points.

p.s. Did you ever get that A/C dispstick you wanted? Hope you did / or are about to bud; )

Thanks for asking about the dipstick. Fact is NO, I didn't get one via the offers to help. Maybe when the light finally switched on in some peoples head, the Australia thing became all too hard??

Anyway, I DID get some sound advice on the "Street' forum and by the time it all was sorted our Host had 3 of the parts in stock. So I bought them and the very same day, Kurt Kelsey put the 4th part up (NOS) on eBay. So I bought that too.

Got the PY parts very fast and tubes are already fitted in the donk. I would think the top tube from Kurt K will arrive in the next day or so.

So all in all, everything has worked out quite well.

With luck, the 421 Tri-powered '65 Bonneville Convertible it's going in will fire it's first shot in anger within the next 3 weeks.

The good thing about a VT is that you can set stuff on there without screwing up the paint. Namely beers & damp towels etc. while washing & detailing. I love 'em. I have always wondered what the 2-tone effect would be with just paint instead though.

I totally agree with Heybuck. I thought the car was lacking some really good stuff. Still not that terrible a price if the car is adequately represented - considering what so many other '60s cars are going for. How many new cars could you buy for that money & have the kind of fun a Full Size Pontiac offers?
