The first picture is a back view of the power steering bracket showing the location of bolts and spacers. The bolts go through the front of the plate, through the spacer, and into the pump body. The second pic shows a front view of how the two pieces are oriented. I took the pictures because I knew I'd never remember how to get it back together.

power steering pump mounting
Hi, one question, how thick are the 2 spacers? Thank you, Pete
|
They are 11/32" thick (a short 3/8") and they measure 3/4" across. The hole is a hair larger than 3/8".

Hi, thank you for that info.
I am adding PS to one of my old cars & have to piece-by-piece the brackets together. |
Does anyone know if a '71/'72 power steering pump will work on the older style brackets?
|
from my experience it was much easier to mount the bracket with the washers to the pump, before installing on the engine. just my 2 cents.

Thanks guys. I had the same question as vinnyragu and got my answer from your pics bobbyj1.
