Head paint

Is there a paint that will hold up on iron heads around the exhaust ports? That drives me nuts! Lets hear your solutions, besides aluminum......

POR-20 makes a coating that meets "boiler code" requirements.
I used it years ago as a "base" and applied the color over it.
Peeling was virtually eliminated. However it still discolored over time.
I think PPG has a paint that will stand up to the heat too.

An idea I'm thinking about is having the insides of the exhaust ports Hi-Temp coated (same stuff as used on exhaust manifolds/headers) and also the areas on the outside of heads around the exhaust ports....then painting over the top.
Got to ask my coating guy how much to do it....but it may be worth the trouble.

I've been tossing around the idea of making a stainless shield that fastens at the valve cover bolts that hides that part of the head. Maybe some louvers for heat disipation. I have all the metal working equipment from my racing days collecting dust.....

If I come up with something cool I'll try to figure out how to post a picture.
