Super Duty Intake.....Opinions????

hey folks, been busy, haven't been around in ahwile, good to be back. i am now working on my "new" catalina, http://216.178.81.108/forums/showthread.php?t=450916 . i am keeping the car basically stock, but i am changing the tripower intake setup to an sd 859 mainfold with superduty carbs. i am going for the sd clone vibe, but do not have everything to do it yet. my question is: to paint that beautiful manifold, or leave it natrual. i think painted is "correct", but man, it looks so good all natural. the engine will get a dressing of new paint, proper valve covers, maybe long branch manifolds, etc, (heads will have to wait, i don't think i need to say why :D $$$$$:D $$$$$:D ), but it is/will be all factory parts from 63, for now, and in the future when i acquire more parts. whatcha think, to paint or not to paint??????

p.s, thank you many times Tom S, for the priceless information and contacts.......

I've always like "natural" on aluminum manifolds also.

Where did you get the intake and carbs?

I would leave in natural too. Very guys go with the total correct deal on clones anyway. It is your car, enjoy it!

intake from e rape, it's umolested, nice casting with no porting or hacking, the carbs were from tom, he had a line on an intake for me too, but it fell through, seller changed his mind at the last minute. i had the carbs restored by a gentleman named ed giolma. they came out absolutely beautiful, his work is amazing, down to the last detail. still need linkage, lines, gaskets, etc, and then i'll make the swap. i want to take the cat down the track a few times, just for baseline times, and see if there is any difference, besides the cool factor. gotta love a post with dual fours!
