I think painted would set off your carbs & plumbing more. All that hard work looks cooler to me if you can see the details with contrasting colors. But, to each his own.
It's gonna look 'BAD' no matter what! |
Here's some pictures

Check these pictures and pick the style you like best. It's a difficult choice to make, they both look good to me.

I got the other picture to load. No, that's not my car. I got the pix from the Full Size pontiac site and HPP mag. The unpainted manifold is on a restored 61 SD Catalina. I'm trying to make the same decision about my engine.

Hey Davey...beautiful Cat man. Yanno the more I look at the two pics I kinda prefer the painted. Whatever you decide tho...it will look good!

If it were my car I'd leave it unpainted, at least for now. You can always paint it later, but it will be a ton of work to strip it if you paint it and then decide you prefer it bare.

Clean, polished aluminum beats paint or chrome any day. Unless you're planning to show in a concours d'elegance, leave it natural.

You dont want to sell me the front carb do you?? Just kidding...
I am in need of an original front carb (have the rear) so I am curious if your lead has anymore he would like to part with for less than a mortgage on a new house in KeyWest? |
