Anyone Talk to Rodney Red Lately??

I ordered my Rodney Red on July 14th, talked to Jerry, and he said it would be 3-4 weeks. In the last 2 weeks, I have e-mailed him at least 3 times and have received no response, and I've made several attempts to call but get no answer and the message machine is full. Anyone know what might be going on there?

Rugratman 08-28-2006 11:47 AM

Vacation?
Jerry is a very stand up guy.

DBONES152 08-28-2006 12:12 PM

I agree with you Rugratman, Jerry has been a great friend to the Pontiac community for years. I'm just concerned that Jerry and Rodney Red are OK.

Mine took about 8 weeks, maybe more and I had some difficulty with communication as well. But he did come through and it's a beautiful piece. Did you try the order tracking feature on his website?

DBONES152 08-28-2006 02:11 PM

Mwritter,

Jerry did not give me an order # when I placed the order and that is part of what I wanted to ask him so I could track it online.

mwritter 08-28-2006 03:19 PM

Hmm - I ordered online, maybe that's how I got my order number. I recall 3-4 unanswered emails along the way but he did finally let me know that he started on mine and I had it very shortly thereafter. Good luck!

I called to order mine. He said he was about a month out. It is about that time now. I have not tried to keep in touch, just look out the window waiting for the UPS driver!!

DBONES152 08-29-2006 02:14 PM

I love it when that brown truck pulls up and the driver has a package from PY, Summit, or Jegs - Its just like Christmas morning.

Judge Smails 08-29-2006 10:05 PM

Personally, I prefer to see the FedEx truck or mailman as opposed to United Package Smashers but that's just me. :-) BTW, I HIGHLY recommend the Rodney Red; the fit is so perfect it's unbelievable. I don't remember too much of a wait when I got mine in early '03 though. Of course, it WAS the dead of winter, not exactly peak season... Jeg's?? Not even with a gun to my head.

Jerry is a stand up guy. I don't remember just how long it took to receive my very quality radiator, but I can tell you it was worth the wait.

Glenn 09-06-2006 04:42 PM

I've tried to get in touch with Jerry at Rodney Red for over a week....Phone calls and emails with no response. A friend and I both want to order a radiator. His 800 number is disconnected. The message on his phone answering machine is old and out dated, talks about just getting back from the GTOAA and getting read to go to Norwalk.

DBONES152 09-06-2006 05:28 PM

I don't know what to think. It will be 8 weeks on Friday that I ordered. I wish Jerry would communicate with someone. Maye someone at PY knows what's going on since they are a supplier of his products also?

Glenn 09-06-2006 06:38 PM

I checked with PY order desk and they said that this is nothing unusual for Rodney Red, very typical....8 to 10 weeks delivery time, total ignoring emails and phone calls. A good product, but worst service. PY has the same problems with them as everyone else.

Guess I'll be ordering a different brand.

Big Injun 09-06-2006 07:15 PM

Jerry is down in Honduras doing some missionary work and is due back the end of the week.

DBONES152 09-06-2006 07:15 PM

I guess I'll just wait mine out, since it has already been 8 weeks for me. I originally looked into a Griffin. When I first looked into ordering one they were about the same price as Rodney Red - $485. By the time I made the decision to purchase they had gone up to around $645. This was in a matter of days, both through Griffin direct and Summit.

Rugratman 09-07-2006 09:53 AM

The Rodney is a better fit. Better made.
Worth the wait.
I figured he was doing something, vacation or something.

UnchainedGTO 09-07-2006 10:08 PM

Rodney Red is the only way to go. I was able to get Jerry to build a radiator for my Suburban. I know it will be worth the wait and should drop my temps as well.

Glenn 09-12-2006 03:21 PM

I'm still trying to contact Jerry at Rodney Red. According to Big Injun he was to be back at his shop last week. Still nobody is answering phone calls or returning emails.

DeBones....have you heard anything yet?

Johnny Mac 09-12-2006 05:34 PM

Well, I don't know what to think about the situation you are in. But I too received a very good product. I spoke to Jerry on a couple of different occassions, both before and again after the sale regarding steel braided hoses. He was hard to reach, but very helpful and came off as honest, hard working, very knowledgeable and helpful.

It's good to do business with a busy man, I would buy from him again, I just can't imagine you won't get a fine product, but I understand the delay and unknowing is extremely frustrating.

DBONES152 09-13-2006 09:19 AM

Not a word - I'll try to give him a call today - Friday will be 9 weeks for me.
