clutch brand and type
I have a 66 GTO with tripower, 4 speed, base 389 with 068 cam and 2-1/2 exhaust. My clutch is in need of replacing. I want to insure some good "off the line" grunt. Can anyone suggest a brand name or company to get this from? Do I just the the clutch, plate and throwout bearing?
Thanks |
You can get some real good deals on Ebay. They might not be advertised as a GTO clutch. As long as you know the spline count and size you should be OK. I bought 2 clutch disc on seperate auctions for about $10.00 each plus shipping and they were top quality. They were advertised for a Corvette.

would you suggest the OEM clutch or something else to insure I have the proper "grabbing" with the clutch? Honestly, I don't know what fits and doesn't so I would be a little uncomfortable on Ebay, but would like some advice.

You should have a 10.5 inch 10 spline clutch, it might be a 11 inch if someone changed it. If you buy a new kit, it might be made in Korea. Which do you think is better, a American made vintage clutch or a after market Korean clutch? The stuff I bought off Ebay was new NOS American made.

Ken K:
Could you look at your "my e-bay" and tell us the name of the seller? |
I know this is random and off topic but do you play Americas Army by chance? played with somebody earlier with the same name.

I purchased one of the ones that Paul Spotts recommends. Priced right and no problems. Great for close to stock setup;
