Wire diagram '70 Firebird
Hello, I'm new on this forum! I own a 1970 Firebird that is almost finished after a 2 year project. I live in The Netherlands so it's pretty hard for me to get parts and info about the car :( :( . So here is my first question:
I'm seaching the internet for a good color wire diagram for my 70 Firebird but I can't seem to find one. I hope someone can help me.... Many thanks |
The best source I know of for a wiring diagram is the '70 Pontiac Firebird service manual supplement (the main 70 Pontiac manual did not have the Firebird included as it was a mid-year introduction). Unfortunately the wiring diagram is not in color, but does have the colors written in type for each wire, for example "blk" for black, "blu" for blue, etc. I believe the Firebird supplement manual has been reprinted and is available from various restoration parts suppliers.

Thanks David, but I already got the Chilton repair manual with the same wire diagrams. The problem I have is which wire runs from the bulkconector to where...... I already got a diagram from a 68 firebird from the internet with a image of the bulk conector, and in full color but there are a lot of wires different to the '70 diagram.....

I have a colored 72 wiring schematic. Looks the same as a 1970.

Thank, I'm buying a original shop manual , but that's taking aprox. 7 to 10 days to get to Holland.... So it would be nice to work on the electrics while the manual is getting to the other side of the ocean...

The 1970 Pontiac Factory servive manual has NO Firebird specific data in,as it was published in Sept/69.
1970 Firebirds were NOT released UNTIL March/70 That's why the suppement is important. |

I got one of these for my '70 off Ebay, jumbo sized for $25. It works well for me. Very easy to read and follow. Also, the guy sells them on this website. |
