valve covers
 

hi everybody,
i'm searching valve covers to put on my 400 in my 1969 firebird convertible, that can clear ERSON roller rockers and that don't hit the original brake booster.
the original is too short and my set of tall chrome is too high.
i think EDELBROCK elite, or maybe ???????
what do you have ?

How about using Valve cover spacers?
Check the Valve Cover spacer thread in the for sale section

yes i can use valve spacer but my original valve covers are not clean so i must buy new valve covers AND valve spacer
better new valve covers with the right size if i can find them........

I remember your question being asked not too long ago on these forums, with lots of responses. Did you search the old threads?

is a M/T or HOLLEY or EDELBROCK ELITE can clear alu roller rockers ?

NONE of the cast covers are going to clear EVERY aluminum rocker without using thick gaskets and/or trimming the rockers to clear the cast in reliefs for the retaining bolts. You are going to have to commit to a pair and make them fit.

For example Harlan Sharps are quite wide on the pusrod end requiring grinding/rounding the ends near the interference areas. some alloy rockers are smaller and may only require thick V-cover gaskets to clear.

this is a good thread. i too am in the market for valve covers that will clear roller rockers. mine are comp red 1.65's. i was looking at the set by tin indian performance. will they clear the brake booster and can they be put on before the engine is in the car?

spacers are not a good solution cause it's as expensive as valve cover themselves and you could have twice more leaks.
