PHS (Pontiac Historical Services) documented as one of only 210 Ram Air IV GTO’s factory equipped with the M-21 Muncie close-ratio 4-speed and 4.33”1 Safe-T-Track rear.

With 72,287 1969 GTO’s produced, only .29% received this drive train! Reputedly the only RAIV / 4-speed / 4.33:1 rear 1969 GTO that left the factory in Matador Red with red interior. Also rare for a RAIV GTO is the vacuum operated covered headlights and vacuum operated disk brake booster. Considering the radical camshaft employed in the RAIV, these options were typically discouraged! With these options:

Factory equipped with the infamous Ram Air IV - the highest HP rating per CID Pontiac produced - 400 cubic inch - 370 HP / 445 Torque - 10.75:1 compression ratio - Round port cylinder heads - stainless valves - Aluminum hi-rise intake manifold - Cast header style exhaust manifolds - RAIV specific cam (308I / 320E, 87 degrees overlap, .531” lift; absolutely the wildest cam ever placed in a muscle car! Horsepower levels were actually closer to 425.

Correct 1969 4-aped RAIV GTO specific 4-bolt main “WW” block (casting 9792506), Correct 1969 RAIV round port cylinder heads (casting 722), Correct 1969 RAIV aluminum hi-rise intake manifold (casting 9796614), Correct 1969 RAIV exhaust manifolds (casting 9797074 / 9797038), Correct 1969 RAIV Quadra-Jet carburetor (7029273). Carburetor restored and blueprinted by Cliff Ruggles.

Just completed two year frame off, nut-bolt, rotisserie restoration. Driven less than 25 miles since completion.

Very nice car. Was this the same one seen at the Nationals this year in Louisville with dog dish caps instead of the rally IIs? Not to nit-pick but if this is the same car, I dont remember the trim missing from the deck lid and quarters. When I win the Powerball tonite, I will make sure its replaced before I take delivery!

275K :confused2 Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful car, but I think he will be disappointed. (unless that number is just to keep people from bidding)

My Wife's parents used to live in the Anthem development in Arizona (it's just outside of Phoenix). I'm familiar with where those pictures were taken, the HOA would flip out if they saw him park that car on the grass. :heh:

yet another 1 of 1, that alone will bring the 275k, LOL nice looking car though i dont think 275 is the number on wed.

I for one, would be much happier seeing Ron & his son getting that kind of money for that car, since they were the ones who built it. I have had the feeling that they and to some extent this board were misled by the current owner when he was trying to fine tune the small details and complete the parts.

Maybe when he sells it he'll send Ron a convertible as a thank you?

Same Car. Was sold there. Sold again on eBay. Now it's more than tripled -almost quadrupled- in the asking price. wow

If it sells for that kind of money then the buyer is just stupid. If I am paying that much then the car had better have the numbers matching engine and transmission, which this car does not. Sorry 1 of 1 dont mean squat if the ORIGINAL parts are long gone unless its a Judge convert or a T/A convert. It still has value but the owner must think it has a Hemi or something. Jim

Very few of those cars have their original motors.

Ron and his son did a very nice job on the car.

Maybe with all the 'recreations' (clones) going for 6 figues, it's coming the point where the original drivetrain in a legit car is no longer such a big deal when done at the higher level. Maybe the cars pedigree is going to be enough.

I guess that seems like crazy money to me. I am an interested spectator as some parts to finish the car for the nationals last year were obtained from me. Jim
