COMPLAINT!!!
is it just me, or dose it seem that everytime a PONTIAC of intrest comes up on thee barrett-jackson (lot # 715 -`73 t/a),they ALWAYS cut to a freakin' commercial!!!! this is the 3rd year in a row! who gives a rats a$$ about all that mopar junk???????????? it would be intresting to here how a REAL car is described on TV, no?????? fyi, it did sell for 40K...:rain:
|
You're not the only one that's noticed! It seems like it is happening way too much to be coinidence.
|
Mopar is currently the hot brand for musclecars, and Chevy has always been the biggie. Speed just has a producer that thinks Pontiac isn't as interesting.
I did see a real nice 69GTO sell yesterday for around 40K |
I too, have noticed that. What a pain in the you know what!!! At least they post the values on the net pretty soon afterwards. We will have to see what the '71 goes for in the next day or two. Of course, that auction will probably occur during yet another commercial break!!!!!!!

For the last three years or so I have seen a steady stream of car haulers pass through here loaded primarily with Mopars with Oregon or Washington plates. All headed south. All needing resto. Now I see a ton of them on BJ. My theory..."they" have been gobbling them up , restoring them, and flooding the market.

They can keep'em, the mopar cars are nothing to these Pontiacs. If you don't believe me drive them both and compare.
Their cya (cover their own @ss) and the market by doing so and someday some how something will change it all. My 2 cents, Brew |
Has anyone noticed if the sellers are getting less dollars than they anticipated?
A friend of mine made a remark about the streetrods or custom vehicles are not bringing the money that been invested into them. I mentioned that the big $$$$ is on the "muscle". |
Just to add to the subject....I was ONLY watching it to see what Mike Joy was going to say about the Trans Am and its heritage, but no, as they go to commercial as I see it rolling up on the stage....Lets all send angry emails to BJ to see if it changes next year...This year is already over for the TA's

I haven't been watching as much this year, because they seem to spend more time panning the camera over the crowds in the tent than showing the auction cars and talking about them... But my sense from the cars I have watched is that the prices are lower this year. In the last couple years, it seemed like the customs and street rods would at least bring close to what it cost to build them. This year that doesn't seem to be the case. Musclecars and other restored classics seem to be bringing less, too. But I've only watched a grand total of maybe 2 hours of coverage, so limited sample... |
45K for a 64 GTO is a low price,if you ask me, I think prices are lower than expected this year also.
|
everyone must have spent their load last year.
|
Just from the looks of the prices, it seems ebay is a better way to go.
|
yikes! $55k+ for the white 71 t/a?? looked like that car has MAJOR issues under the hood... did anybody see if it made on the air??? if so, how was it presented???.... bueller?????
