Orange County Raceway

One day back about74-75 I whad finished and was driving my 32 3widow coupe, chopped chanelled etc bear and all front was chrome plated, real nice car. Well I decided we my wife and 6-7 year old daughter would drive down to the orange counth racetrack and watch the races, something big was happening but don't remember what. The car was a REAL head turner. At the Gate after we paid to get in, people were coming over to look at car. Someone asked if blower was real and how it ran. The gate person said it was alright to show how it ran and do a burnout. Remember a race was going on. So I did a n easy burn out In parking lot. Everyone wanted to see a real burn out so I shifted to 1st ( 4 speed early hydro much modified) And buried it Went thru all 4 gears just smoking the 17" wide (not street legal) dirt track tires. When that Blower Was really turning(22% over) it really moaned. The sound was DEAPHINING. People from the bleachers 60 feet up Were leaning over backwards Looking at my 32 do a LOUD Smoky burnout. I bent the drive shaft So badly when tires grabbed that I had to leave car at racetrack till next day so I could get another one made.Just memories of my life then in S Calif. Many many more good memories. hotchief

True...I just broke mine on the highway doing about 110+ that was not a pretty sight and I guess it was pretty embarassing at the time, however great story!

Great story. I would have liked to see that. Too bad we didn't have video cameras back then, and not that many movie cams back then. Today it would have been on Youtube by the end of the day.
