Pontiac Town
I remember seeing a article about a small town called Pontiac--I think in Illinois were most of the Pro Street cars were Pontiacs -ie. 11 sec. 71 T/A 455 HO etc. --any current members from there--should have some cool stories.

If your referring to the City Of Pontiac IL, I live about three hours north of there.
Its a very nice town but I'm not sure of the cities car heritage. There is a show every year in the downtown area called Pontiac's in Pontiac. I was there a couple of years ago and the city made for a nice car show setting. Its kinda cool to see the name Pontiac on everything. Not to mention that one of the cities claim to fame is thats is right along original Route 66 pavement. There is also a pretty good size prison in town, so if you ever drive through there.... 1. Don't pick up any hitchhikers 2. Obey the law or they'll throw ya in the slammer! |
Cool town history Paul---this article was about a group of guys that would all help each other build there PRO STREET PONTIACS--Another car there was a 68 Firebird with a Blown 455.
