N.O.S., a GTO, and a BMW motorcyle!

Well, back in the mid 80's I had just installed a nitrous kit on my 65 gto, 428, 4 speed. When I got the adjustable kit I just went straight to the largest jets it came with. I figured if small was good, huge could only be better! Anyway, it was the 250 horse or so setup. I took two friends, Dave and Adam, for a nitrous run outside of town where there was little to no traffic. On the way back from making a couple nitrous blasts, we pulled up behind a BMW motorcycle in the left turn lane. The rider of the bike turned around and gave my car the once over. Light turned green and he turned onto the road that had two lanes. He immediately got into the right lane and I went into the left. As I got next to him, he nailed the throttle. My immediate instinct was to nail mine. We both are banging through the gears and staying side by side. My buddie, Dave, said the BMW was 1100 and something cc's. The lanes were merging together when I was in third gear, so I said to Dave, " wave bye, bye" and he did. As soon as I hit fourth gear, I flipped the nitrous switch and we left the Beamer way behind in a huge cloud of black smoke! When I turned it off, we were probably about 1/4 mile ahead of him! It stayed that way for several miles and when I was in a left turn lane, I saw the BMW in my mirror coming up. When he got next to us, I was expecting the bird to fly, but to my surprise, he cruised by very slow with a big thumbs up and nodding his head! He was probably thinking, Damn, I'm never racing another GTO as long as I live! Gotta love it!:D
