Motor mount question for engine swap.

My dad is building up a 455 blocked motor for his 64 GTO and is confused with which motor mounts he needs. I told him to match them to the block and order 455 mounts. He thinks he needs to match them to the Chassis of the car. Who is right? Thanks in advance guys.

Motor Mounts

I put a 455 in my 66 Bonneville and ordered the 66 stlye mounts. The 455 block has additional mounting boses cast on them to accompany any stlye mounts. Fix'n to put a 455 into my 65 GTO, same deal applies.

Buy engine mounts for a '64 326 Lemans or '64 389 GTO. Actually the '64 -'72 A-body V8 Pontiacs all use the same engine mounts, except for the odd-ball 455 mounts which you don't need to install a 455 in one of these cars.

I know this only because I have two 1964 Pontiac A-bodies (a GTO and a Tempest) and both have 455s swapped in.;)
