Accel warranty repair
Has anyone dealt with the ignition products company Accel (a division of Mr. gasket now) with getting warranty repair on ignition prodects?
I bought one of their 300+ electronic ignition boxes (the box says it has a lifetime warranty hence one of the reasons I purchased it) and its never worked since I Installed it. It doesnt deliver a spark to the distributor. Ive talked to tech support several times (a couple of them were the rudest support people Ive ever dealt with) and finally a nice support guy said just ship it to the warranty repair facility and have them fix it. He didnt give me a repair number to send it by or anything of the sort. So, I'm worried that if I send it there they will say they never got it (because of the no repair # etc), or they will send me a huge bill eventhough the thing has a lifetime warranty. I love it when you spend a ton of money on some product and then when it doesnt work the tech support people try to blame it on you as the reason the product is a POS. |
OK, I Sent my brand new 300+ ignition box into Accel Service. I enclosed a one pager I wrote about including all the details I went through in how I hooked it up and tested it etc.
They called me a week later and said: "Well, your box did in fact FAIL our bench test. We'll replace it with a refurbished unit. Whats your credit card number because that will be a $30 testing fee + an extra charge for shipping back to you" :( What a crock of crap......So, I buy a brand new product.....its dead on arrival.....and then I have to pay extra for them to test their own POS product to confirm that its dead? Why didnt they test it after it came off the manufacturing line? Thats American quality and customer service for ya. :( |
