63 lemans front bumper

Does anyone have any pics or know how the front bumper installs on the 63 lemans. Mine does not have one and I wanted to make sure I know how it mounts. My car only has mounting holes on each end of the front fenders. Nothing in the middle to support a bumper. So I am not sure if some of the mounting holes were covered up....my car has been customized so it's possible some holes were covered....

Also, anyone know where to get a bumper that has been redone?

Thanks

Brad

Brad if the car has a tube chassis you will have to fab all the brackets, pretty sure the original brackets bolted to the front subframe. Thanks Greg

Brad-check this out: Buy a fiberglass unit from VHN and send it to Oklahoma and have it chromed. http://www.snschrome.com/bumpers.htm

Just an idea.

Yes, car is tube and I will need to fabricate, and was wondering how the original mountings went....

I'll check out the FB bumper, was thinking about that one, but did not know who chromed them.....that would keep weight to a min. plus make the fabrication a little less heavy duty....

Thanks

Brad

Can the VFN '63 Tempest front bumper be bought for any less than the $165 price I found?

SNSChrome- $550 for 'level 3' bumper chroming- ouch!

In looking at their process they paint the coating rather than metalizing. I'm not sure why it would be $550 for a paint job unless I'm missing something. I would like to do Fiberglass, but at $165 plus the "chrome" job costs it might not be cost effective.

A replated unit from BumperBoyz w/o core trade in is $450.

Thanks for the picture. On my car there is no way those brackets or even the idea of using brackets there would work. My car is solid metal where those bumper bracket feeds would go toward the frame. So, my front end must have been modified from original. Not being an expert on the 63 it would be possible for me to miss that point.

Thank you

Brad

I was merely stating the price they quote on their website- ask them why.
