400 ci motor
 

wondering what compression i could expect from a 71 motor with 7j2 heads. converting it #62 heads. currently heads are 96 cc and want to change to 72cc head size with 2.11/1.77 valves. also what horsepower could i expect from this engine? thanks for all help in advance!!!!!

you should post this in the Street section of the forum, but to answer your question. (This is off the top of my head). I would say you are around 8:1 now and the 62's (72-75cc)would put you around 10:1. A little high for pump gas, but there are ways to lower it a little bit.
