Rear sway bar assembly
 

I bought a rear sway bar for my 64 GTO and to be honest I have no clue on how to install it. Does anyone have any pointers or pictures of one installed. Since I have the frame off it should be a easy fix but sometimes us rookies have to ask for some HELP !

I have exactly the same issue. I'm replacing springs and shocks, and want to install that huge H-O sway bar, but the stock lower arms don't appear to have holes for the bolts. It sure looks like time to replace the arms with good ones that are drilled. Pictures/guidance would be nice indeed.

Our host sells a kit that alows the LCA's to be boxed for sway bar installation. Ames offers the kit, as well. Both require welding and drilling. I'm not sure if a diagram is included - give either a call and ask.

Rear Swaybar
 

I recently installed the rear swaybar kit offered by our host. Requires removal of lower control arm in order to weld the bracket to the arm. Dilling of holes in arm after install is required. Not a big chore...fits in REAL well. A buddy with welding equipment and drill press is a big help! Go for it!

sway bar
 

I have the boxed rear lower control arms with the holes, have the sway bar and shims. Do the shims just get put in place equally between the bar and control arm on each side to take up any gaps? Anyone know the torque spec for the sway bar bolts? Thanks

Put the bar between the two BOXED arms, shim if needed, slide the bolts through, tighten nuts and you're good to go. I don't know the torque specs but they should be pretty tight but not tight enough to distort the control arms.

the instructions that came with the shim/bolt kit i bought recently say's to torque the bolts to 45 ft-lbs. in any sequence.
