Floor mat question.
 

I have the original floor mats for my car. They are the rubber ones with the ponitac logo on them. They are the turquoise color. Both suppliers only have black. Can I dye rubber mats or is their a paint I can use? To save money I would like to keep the originals.

I'm surprised to hear that only black is available as I got a set from Ames awhile back in blue. I don't blame you for keeping the originals as the replacements are kinda expensive. Offhand I can't answer you paint question but what I would do is try some paint for plastics, spray some on the back side of the mat and see how it does. It may crack or peel off.

I'd think the vinyl dyes would work. They do very well on seats. I think Eastwood sells some colors. Don't know how close to correct they would be though.

Or, you can purchase carpet mats that match your carpet from ACC for about $75 (4 mats) shipped. ACC supplys most of the carpet kits sold in the aftermarket.

Damon, the best place for those rubber mats is the back porch.
They ruin the floor by keeping moisture trapped in the carpet.
I would rather replace the carpet then the floor.
I pitched the mats over ten years ago on my 83 Olds 98 winter salt cruiser and the carpet is still in great shape.

The more and more I look at them the more I may go with wheelspins suggestion. It looks like their is no mats at all. Nice clean look. ACC is just over in anniston about 40 min from me.
