My New Wenzler II's

4 Attachment(s)
I finally talked my wife into opening up and take pictures of my new Wenzler II heads. When she gets back from Denver, I'll try to get her to take some pictures of the combustion chambers and exhaust ports.

I know these are not mainstream heads anymore. If my T/A goes 100% race car, I'll use them on a 1970 4-bolt 455 block I have.

I imagine many people here have never seen a set. They have 80cc chambers and Comp 895 springs and RAIV round port exhaust.

I'm trying to find a set of rocker shafts if anybody has a set laying around.

Thanks!! They should flow 288CFM @ 28" and .600 lift. Looks like they need a little cleaning in the intake passages. They are probably a bit overkill for what I'll use them for, but...

Stock Edelbrocks will go over 280 at 28" right out of the box with a extremely minor clean-up. No real porting.

At one time Larry's stuff was the only game in town and I give Larry credit for bringing out his heads but there are far better and cheaper heads today for the same flow numbers.

My old stock Wenzlers --

Intake
.100 68
.200 135
.300 184.3
.400 225.2
.500 265.4
.600 286.1

Exhaust
.100 66
.200 119
.300 155
.400 185
.500 192
.600 195

Just for reference...My new highport heads flow 295cfm @ .400 lift.

If you have the right guy port the Wenzlers, they can go 370cfm at .700 lift. Jim Robertson (link in my signature) does very nice work with Wenzler heads.

I got a really good deal on these. I'm hoping someone on this planet has an extra set of rocker shafts they would sell. New ones are expensive.

We'll see what I do with my car. I'm running 30 spline axles in a 8.5 10-bolt. My tranny is a well built but still a TH350. I'm going to enjoy this 400 for a bit and collect parts for down the road...

We are a T & D dealer.

We do lay-a-way. ;)

Johnny,
Looking at the pic of the chamber, the spark plug hole looks like it is only about 1/8" away from the deck surface. Or is it an optical illusion/angle of the pic?

I always wondered how his wife kept the aluminum shavings out of the laundry???

I WOULD GET LARRY AT BRANDWINE TO PUT IN STEPPED WASHERS WHERE THE HEAD STUDS GO...THE HEADS ARE SOFT AND TEND TO CRUSH,AND THEY ALL CRACK IN THE CENTER EXH PORT, NEAR THE BOLT HOLE.
