How does this deal sound? (Possible 05 purchase)
 

Hello, I am thinking of selling my 1995 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham w 20k and investing in a low mileage goat. I am not in a major hurry, I may wait until spring, but I want a gray or silver 05 or 06 M6 with less than 10k. Does this link sound like a good starting point for bargaining? What would be a realistic price to try and get it for?

Thanks in advance. There is a new 06 at my local dealer, but they will not come off sticker, will only play with my trade in, so I will tend to avoid that situation. Thanks in advance for your advice.

They will not come off sticker? That's just hilarious. Find another dealer, you may have to drive a bit but I'd just go get a new 06 for 26-28...

I went to check the 6 speed out, and it had been sold. However, when talking to the manager, I found out that we had a mutual friend, and he found me one in a GM auction, Quicksilver w/ black interior and a m6. He said he is willing to broker the car and sell it to me at wholesale price. How does that sound? What is wholesale cost on a car like that?

That sounds great, just be carefull with an auction car. Make sure you can examine it thoroughly prior to signing the deal. Check all the TSBs, not sure what all is out there currently, strut rub, paint... I don't really know wholesale? 25? Does Edmunds or KBB give you wholesale?

KBB does not. I will check edmunds tho. I was thinking substantially less than 25k, since they had that 06 i posted earlier in this thread with less miles for 24,995. I was thinking along the lines of 20-21, I hope that doesnt sound crazy. As far as auction cars, I work for a VERY large used car retailer, and most of our cars come from GM auctions, and my job is to inspect them. I will check the paint, struts and whatever else, along with transport or frame/collision damage. Thanks again, and I look forward to any more advice you can give. I told him to look on ebay there are around 25 on there for sale, and six on craigslist in local area (at the time)

I've noticed a bunch of 05 & 06 GTOs on Craigslist with fairly low miles lately. I'm warming up to those more and more. When I can buy an LS2 for $15K, I'll probably buy one and make it a driver. I'm guessing I've got about 3 - 4 more years before they get there, although the 04s are there now for higher mileage. First thing is a replacement for my 96 2500 Suburban.

I looked at new trucks this weekend, and I can definitely tell you that the dealers are trying to make deals. Pricing for GM vs Dodge seems to be pretty wierd. Capital Dodge in Garner offered an 07 Dodge 3500 dually diesel for $27000 last weekend (newspaper ad). The picture showed a quad cab truck. I went to look at it, and it turned out the price was right, but it was a standard cab long bed dually diesel. They were about $9K off sticker and ready to deal. The truck didn't have many options, but I could have got a 2500 Quad Cab CTD for $34K, well optioned.

I went to the Chevy dealership and looked at on 07 Duramax. It stickered at $43K and they were willing to come off about $3K. The guy was eager to sell, he wanted to set me up with a test drive and appraise my Saturn Vue (that's my commuter car, like I'm gonna trade that) and talk financing.

I'm a GM man, but I can't justify the difference in price.

few 05 or 06 under 12000 miles for less than $18K. more 04s at that price.
