X-Body Disc Rotor Size
 

Anyone know what diameter were stock X-body front disc rotors?

And did anyone ever hear that a front disc conversion on an X-Body can prevent you from using 14" Rally Wheels?

If you're doing the conversion using factory parts, the 14" Rally II wheels fit.

Stock rotors were 11" (10.94") in diameter.

These cars all came out of the factory with 14" wheels.

11 inch is what I got.
Previous owner's receipts show '71 LeMans parts being used for a conversion about 10 years ago. The steering arm is different than than the one pictured in the Ventura parts book. I know the LeMans is interchangeable, but different in appearance & p/n.

It's the Ames catalog that states original Rally II wheels used on drum brakes can't be used on the disc conversion.

I think the drum brake rally wheels have a different offset that won't work with the discs. JOHN

My '73 has Rally wheels that fit after the disc brake conversion and my '72 has bobo (base model) wheels that fit after the disc brake conversion. I've heard that after 70 something all 14" wheels on the X body worked with disc brakes.

I've been reluctant to pick up any Rally wheels not knowing whether or not they'd be able to be used. I seem to be stockpiling parts that I most likely will not use, & I'd like to break that habit.
