Rally II Wheel Questions

Hi. In working on my stock 14" 1969 Firebird Rally II wheels, am I correct in assuming they are 6" wide wheels (haven't demounted the tires yet), since these wheels are original to my car?

Also, in 1969, what was the correct finish for the trim rings for the Rally II wheels (bright? brushed? Combination of the two looks?).

Finally, can anyone recommend a vendor selling the correct charcoal and silver wheel paint colors in spray cans? I see Ames says they have found the closest paints they can (Eastwood), "but the silver has too much metallic and the charcoal is too dark". Can someone suggest better than this? Thanks, John in Wisconsin

You could have some qts mixed at the auto paint store
They problably wont do laquer so you ll have to settle on enamel.
just be sure and get semi gloss
Or you may find a powder coater that can do them correctly
Also in 69 they offered 14x6 and 14x7 RallyIIs

Firebirds in 69 had 7" wheels Rallye two or regular black wheel if car had F70 tires. This meant that all V8 and sprint cars had 7" wheels and a regular L6 car could have 7" wheels if the car was ordered with one of the F70 tires.

By the way base engine cars had E70's.

Well, my V-8 car originally came equiped with F70 x 14 tires, so that pretty much says I should have 7" wide wheels on the vehicle. Thanks, John in Wisconsin

If you give the codes to the left and right of the valve stem on your wheels we should be able to let you know if they came with the car originally.
