1963 engine cradle

Nice looking v-8 cradle for a 63 on e-rape item # 230173905875 Mike

The price is out of line, but someone not knowing better might pay near that.

What is a cradle in that nice condition worth?

It always depends on the motivation of the buyer but it would seem to me that if I had one to sell, $250 would be a fair price for both buyer and seller. It's just a chunk of iron but you don't see them for sale that often. The one on ebay has been relisted because it didn't meet reserve the first time.

Just wondering, because it cost me $650 for a nasty, rusty V-8 cradle from a highly recommended tempest/lemans supplier. Even so, it took him several months to get me one. He said they are not that plentifull and most of them are rusted pretty badly. So, I guess I can't complain.

I'd put the price at 5 bills if it's a nice piece. The labor in modifying a non v8 on top of the difficulty in finding one justifies that price... unless the person doing the mods is only worth 20 bucks an hour. ;)

I spent almost 10 years looking for one local, then found one less than a mile from me
the guy wanted $65.00 I paid the man on the spot, ran home and got my tools and had it home in about an hour! complete drum to drum ( finned drums at that )
So you can pay money or time or just get lucky!
another plus is i got V8 springs.

A search of this forum for references to Crossmember will turn up lots of information on using the 4cyl crossmember with a V-8

I use a 4cyc X member with my V8.With all the fab work needed just to do a solid rear, making V8 motor mounts work was NBD.Tom

Getting ready to mock up a V8 in a 61. Got a block-oil pan-motor mounts-tap measure-an a angle of the dangle finder-heavy paper and scissors-level-plum bob. Did I forget anything?
