Richmond Races tomorrow
Any body going to Richmond tomorrow
For bracket racing? Myself and mrpeabody will be there gates open at 3:00 hope the weather holds out.Hope to see a 11.50 or better!!!!!! Dan:D |
Wayne and Dwayne Green should be there with thier 65 Tempest. It should be in the low 10's.We are going to change the cam after this race to a more foot brake friendly grind. The 60ft times are a little slow.Brian

I'll be there with the GTO running Top ET.Get there around 2:00 if you want a good parking spot. They have 89 reserved spots but you can usually find a nice one if you get there early.Be prepared to sandbag cause that thing is going to run way faster than 11.50.

Dan,
How did you do? Tom |
The car did not do as hoped went 116.91 with et of 12.20 and the terrible 60 foot of 1.94. so I have found the problem with the suspension and am ordering caltracs and front shocks and rear shocks for it so it doesnt spin so bad . It had no weight transfer at all. the rear gas shocks were so bad and the new control arm bushings and stops were even worse for it it was like a no suspension car. Mrpeabodys engine seems to really make exalant power ,now if I can hook it up with out suffering to much driveability
Thanks to the group for the ideas. ALSO IT WEIGHS 3800LBS!!!!! any more help is always welcome. Dan |
Sounds like you have a solid 11.50 street car with a 116.9 mph. I bet with some traction and tunning you could have a low 11 sec car. What did your none Pontiac friends think about it? Did you drive the car up from Williamsburg and was that run through the exhaust or open headers.
|
Dan,your car looked and sounded great. It spun like it was in water. The car definately needs the suspension work you mentioned.Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you.Too bad they had to go 1/8th mile after those oil downs.
Jim,good talking to you. |
I drove the car to the track and home from Williamsburg, that's the nice thing, listening to the radio. The passes I made were through the exhaust. My mopar friends have given me allot #!%$# that it did not make 11s. That's OK it will than they will eat crow and pay me some money. So I'm spending the money on caltracs and shocks.

Dan was like a little kid, running around and having a BALL! Many of his MOPAR buddioes came along. They were actually quite surprised at the representation Pontiac has at the local level. The vast majority of Pontiac bodies were Pontiac-powered.
Jeff had a slight "electronics" issue. He did a 200' weelstand, that I heard all about, though I arrived about 30 minutes after it happened. Them Chevy and Dodge boys are still amazed when they see a big Poncho illustrate such dramatic torque! He got it fixed and the car acted more "normally". What a purdy car! Good job on the Dinnwiddie championship, Jeff! Jim |
